The Dirt Brief History - Dr. Thomas (The Zombie) Pm.D - Reconsciousness Therapy - |
Dr. Thomas (The Zombie) PM.D. The circumstances surrounding the death of Thomas O'Brien and the subsequent reanimation of his corpse remain a mystery. However, he believes it was some time in the early to mid 90's. We are also fairly certain that he died alone in his own house and was by and large forgotten by the outside world, as is evidenced by the fact that he had gone so long without eating a living human brain that he had resorted to eating books. It was during one such book binge that Thomas came across what had been his living self's favorite book, Robinson Crusoe. This encounter triggered a memory which led to a thought which then passed and was forgotten. But from that point on memories and thoughts became more and more frequent until Thomas (the Zombie) remembered that he was once human whilst simultaneously realizing that was no longer the case. This existential dilemma led the risen Thomas to pour his reacquired consciousness into study and research. His dedication to understanding the psychology of the zombie mind awarded him the very first post-mortem doctorate in history. Dr. Thomas has since devoted his after life to restoring the lost minds of the living dead. Thanks to his patented reconsciousness therapy, dozens of zombies have gone on to become high functioning contributors to their community (to the extent that a fearful, distrusting, and edible world will let them contribute), and to a large extent have carried on Dr. Thomas' work, since his recent inability to take any new patients himself due to Aggressive Decay. He still writes essays and articles that continue to guide his protégés, and he remains the foremost authority and the greatest advocate for post-human rights in North America. |
